Passionate Energy

Albinia used to be more...prudish. That she knew. It was hard to forget how she used to be. However, the past year on her world, she had become...less so. She was still very insistent on safe sex and for people to be mindful, but considering how people chose to cope, her judgement could only lessen.

Perception and public opinion was a hell of a thing for a god.

Then there was here, where touch was a responsible thing to do. Where contact was important. And then there was research into the energy of it...

Its why she had the device. Seriously considering it as she sat outside the Research Center.

"Is there something the matter?"

Nanoha had noticed Albinia sitting outside the Research Center with the strange device.

"You look like you're confused..."

Albinia looked up. "Do I?" She asked. She supposed this was enough to actually make her expression obvious. She wasn't sure if that was a good or a bad sign. "It is a less of something being a matter as pondering how hands on I want to be with this experiment the Research Center is doing," she said, gesturing to the device.

“I see. That’s a new addition. Do you know what it’s for?” Nanoha asked. She might have seen such a thing before, but it was still all new to her.

"Its to collect energy from intercourse. Touch energy is a documented fact and some scientists believe the more intimate the act, the more energy that can be contained. I have been curious if its a simple cumulative effect from just prolonged contact, or if its exponential with the type being an actual factor," she said.

If there's anything she can say without shame, its a hypothesis.

“Ah…!” Nanoha blushed a little but recovered. Oh, she should talk to Usagi about this.

“But, I could see the idea of intercourse having an effect on Touch Energy. It might be a stronger source, but I would think it would also be limited…”

"Limited in what way?" Albinia asked, a slight tilt of her head. Her expression didn't change much, but her eyes were more intent on Nanoha.

“The partner and consent.” She said. “Oh, it might be more potent, but using such an angle might need a partner willing to do so.”

"It seems doubtful that is a problem, at least in the efforts to collect samples. To attempt to gather the energy in the moment would be ill advised, but when it comes to people being willing, the population is very..." Albinia paused, looking out at the world at large. "....let's say very free with their affections."

She chuckled at that. “Ah, I have to admit, you are right. “It’s not like other worlds in that regard, huh?”

"My world was not quite so free as this place, no," Albinia said. At least, not in the past. Its amazing what trying to recover from a world ending event will result in.

"The touch energy is a likely factor. It encourages closeness overall. Though with those brought here...that part I have yet to figure out." It made sense back home because the people they brought in had died, and there was constant danger anyway, it encouraged a 'you only live once' mentality. Ellipsa was a lot...

“I honestly agree that this world brings out something different in people. A more… relaxed self, as it were.” Nanoha said.

“Though, I do not know what makes us so special…”

"You mean for being brought here?" Albinia asked. "Or something else?"

“Being brought here. Helping protect this world nonewithstanding.”

[medicinalfrost]

"Random chance," Albinia said. "The receiving of seasonal powers would be an affect of entering this world. Being pulled along like that through the space between worlds makes people malleable. Things get lost, and things can become attached. As for why we were grabbed, it would be chance."

“Hmm… never thought of it like that. It would make sense. I wonder if that also goes for our feelings.” Nanoha said. “Like being able to act or feel one way when we couldn’t before.”

"You gained new emotions here?" Albinia asked.

“Well… I’ve come to realize I don’t need to love just one person.” Nanoha said.

[medicinalfrost]

"It is more likely that is 'being able to act.' It is rather common for people to default to the most common form of romantic and sexual expression of their society until they are either exposed to examples of their true orientation, or have targets for their affection where its strong enough to cause confusion that will hopefully lead to understanding," Albinia said. "Polyamory isn't so odd an orientation as some societies can lead people to believe."

“I see… that would make sense, actually. I just never thought I would have it happen to me.” She said. She smiled at her before testing things out, reaching over to take her hand.

[medicinalfrost]

"Most don't. People do not like being uncertain about themselves," Albinia said. Touching a bit as she's suddenly touched.

Though she doesn't pull away.

She knows better. She doesn't always touch as often as she should.

Though she is notably cool to the touch.

She notices the chill on her hand, causing her to tilt her head.

“Are you cold?”

"Yes, but that's normal. If I'm not cold, it would be quite bad," she said.

“I see. You don’t have to explain. It’s who you are.” Nanoha said. “Despite this, though… I like being affectionate.”

[medicinalfrost]

"Its not something I keep secret. I'm an ice goddess. As well as other domains," Albinia said. She looked down at their hands. "People are...often affectionate." He pauses, and turns her hand in Nanoha's. "Are you offering to help with the experiment?"

"An ice goddess... heh, that's amazing. Haven't met goddesses before, so this is a first." Nanoha said. She nodded at her question.

"If you'll let me. I know we just met, but... I want to help."

And she starts to entwine her fingers with Albinia's.

"It's just how I was born," Albinia said. It was an odd thing to think of as amazing. Its not like that status was earned, it simply was.

Albinia considers. She had been thinking about taking part. If she was curious, and Nanoha was willing...

She finally nods, standing up, holding the device close to her. "Do you have a preferred place?"

And Nanoha would stand up with her. "How about your place? It's your experiment and it would be better if we had a central place to stay at without having to go all over."

[medicinalfrost]

Albinia nodded. "That is a fair point. Though I keep the place fairly cold, so it'll need a few minutes to warm up," she said.

“That’s fine. We’re in no rush.” Nanoha said, smiling as she did.

[medicinalfrost]

Albinia nodded, a slight red to her cheeks. "True. One should never rush science if they don't have to," she said, leading the way back to the apartments.

Nanoha giggled a bit, noticing the blush. “Especially one of this kind.”
